Jewish! Studying and living the Torah.

We receive the Torah anew

Today is the 49th day of the Omer!
Malchut shebeMalchut!

It is incredibly important to understand that the giving of the Torah was not only something that happened in the past—it is something that is happening right now!

We receive the Torah anew.

But we also need to understand why this renewal is necessary.
Why do we have to renew our acceptance of the Torah every single year?

David HaMelech teaches:
“The Torah of Hashem is perfect, restoring the soul.”

The Baal Shem Tov HaKadosh explains that this “perfection” means that no one else has fully encompassed the Torah.
No one possesses it.
No one has fully understood it.
No one has revealed your personal share within it.

And wow… just that alone restores the soul.

To realize that the Torah is waiting for you.
We are waiting for your arrival.
We are waiting for you to reveal it to us through your unique soul.

Every person has their own access to the Torah.
Their own language.
Their own light.

And therefore we must renew our acceptance of the Torah every year—because the Torah itself renews us.

A Torah that is truly internalized is a deeper Torah.
And this kind of Torah requires preparation.

May we merit to receive the Torah with great joy,
with renewed strength, and with deep inner inspiration.

Chag Sameach!

And tomorrow is the yahrzeit of David HaMelech.
